Bookmobile Audiobook Player App Reviews

Excellent

This app is very well designed. Impressive feature set and very clean interface. Its a pleasure to use, one of the best apps Ive purchased.

Great Player

I have been surprised at how few player apps give adequate functionality. Good navigation and qeueing features are rare, and they dont save your place. I had one that was good that I lost when I upgraded my iOS. Was so pleased to find this one. Great navigation features, saves your place, and also nice to look at. Bravo! Please dont disappear on me as well...

Clunky UX, but

... after you learn how the app works, its great. Only thing that would make it better is multi-device sync (similar to how the Audible app works)

Excellent app!

As good as it gets on this planet. A must-have app.

Perfect

Remembers all of my stopping points. Picks up right where I left off. Awesome interface, easy to use, adjustable increments which is great for when my mind wanders and I need to rewind a little bit but not much, whereas Audible only gives you 30 seconds forward or back.

Didnt work with Audible books

Mentions Audible.com books. Apparently DRM audiobooks have to be "synchronized" I presume to a computer. I do everything via download and cloud, so this option is not open to me and probably may others. I dont connect the computer the the iPhone as this is a conduit for virus activation. I was successful in importing an audiobook that I assembled form audiobook builder and imported via drop box. this worked well.

Either the trial version is unusable or this software is broken

Installed it and tried to add an mp3 audiobook. The “transfer using browser” functionality didn’t work — the web page never loaded. (Tried this with 2 different browsers on 2 different networks.) So I tried to add the mp3 using Dropbox as they suggest. It seemed to work but never actually showed up in the app. Maybe these are limitations of the trial version, but if that is true, it was not made clear anywhere and “it seems like it would work but it totally doesn’t” isn’t a good way to implement missing features in free trial mode. Add to this the fact that the interface looks like garbage, and I have to say I’m massively disappointed. I assumed an app with such high ratings and so frequently updated would be excellent, and I couldn’t even get it to work.

Super App - awesome support!

This app works really well and has features not in other apps. Combining podcasts and audiobooks is a real plus. Tech support by developer is awesome! Worth every penny.

Great for Audiobooks!!

Ive been really impressed with this app. Its very intuitive, easy to link to existing playlists already on your phone, and the best part; you never lose your place! I hate to say this, but Id totally pay for this app; just dont get any ideas! ;)

Great podcast and audiobook integration

I really like the podcast download options and all the options for downloading audiobooks. Very impressed!

Great audio book and pod cast player!

Yup, its a great app. Works perfectly for audio books and great for pod casts!

Finally!

Super easy and simple to use. Great interface. Ive been listening to mp3s for years the slow way (no easy rewind or feed, or even keeping your place from last listen). This app does it all from any format. Couldnt do this with podcasts, iTunes, or any other common app Id found before. I love it! Now just asking for a repeat function/upgrade. Sounds like it will be added!

The best (just not the prettiest)

The best audiobook player Ive used. Full featured. Takes a bit to get used to the interface but its worth it.

THE best!

Headband shoulders over iTunes. I highly recommend it.

Finally found my dream podcast app

Worth every freakin penny. Finally found an app that frees me from the shackles of iTunes. It allows you to download audiobooks from web URLs (like my own webserver) either in m4b, MP3, or a zip file of the mp3s and converges it into one packaged audiobook! (Using other download apps like FTP clients, email attachments, or "Documents" app can also import via iOS share-sheet the zip/MP3/m4b files into this app as well). It then lets you edit tags, update cover art, it saves your position and never loses it! And it even lets me customize the prev track function in my Bluetooth car stereo to configure it to seek back 30 seconds or however you want to configure it. Finally I can manage and add audiobooks without ever touching iTunes. This is the only audiobooks app I have found that lets you download direct from the web (Documents.app is another download app, but its not made for audiobooks). Absolutely fantastic job guys! I got exactly what I wanted.

Nice

Great app for the audiophile

Transfer files from computer with ease!

A great app for loading individual MP3 files for podcast like listening.

Love the interface

So far I like this above other apps I tried. Importing books via zip from url or via open in.. is just awesome. Couple of features that would make this a killer: 1) sync between devices. Sometimes I need to use my iPad for listening and adjusting the time manually is painful. 2) Apple Watch support. Progress information, pause, play, skip, rewind without need to take phone out...(this could be another in app purchase)

Great app

Good job developer! The Apple audiobook app when to crap and this is a perfect replacement.

I never leave reviews,

but after the iTunes app on my iPhone 6 kept losing my place in the middle of a long (2+ hour) audiobook or podcast segment, I began looking for an alternative. It boggles my mind that an app like iTunes is unable to bookmark itself in the middle of a long file, but I digress. I stumbled upon this app and began using the trial for my audiobooks. It flawlessly picked up the entire volume of files with selection of a single file in the group. I used the browser-to-mobile feature just last night, and while it hiccupped with upload of a large selection of files, I was able to transfer 36 segments of an audiobook without a problem when uploaded 4 or 5 at a time. The mobile interface is great for fast forward and rewind (large buttons instead of that tiny slidebar nonsense), and not once did it lose my place in the book. Worth every penny of the $4, and if that wasnt enough you can even trial it for free. Win!
